Scruching hair problem!!?

whenever i try to scrunch my hair in the morning it never works!

i have naturally straight kind of thin hair.

i'll take a shower in the morning and then try scrunching with the scrunching gel and hair spray... but it never turns out wavy-ish like it should.

i can't braid my hair the night before cause my hair gets greasy then...

is there anything else i can do besides curling it with a curling iron?

any tips i could use to help me...

how can it get greasy overnight? Do you always take showers in the morning? You should take one at night then do the braids when your hair is still damp, then take them out in the morning. That's what my friend does, and I do that too except I don't need to do the braid thing.

getting a perm could be good for you or getting a curling shampoo is good too. wash%26amp;curl works good

I recently heard about a new method, haven't tried it yet, but I'll pass it along anyhow.

In the morning when you get out of the shower, towel dry hair, use a gel-type hair texturizer, and take 1-2 inch sections of your hair and twist around and around. Since your hair is still semi-wet your hair should stay in the twisted shape after you let go. Then use a bit of hair spray through out hair. Then use the diffuser on your blow dryer and blow up and down hair, doing the scrunching motion like you did before with your hands, but instead with the diffusing blow dryer this time. Do it on low, and don't feel the need to do it all at once. Blow for a couple of minutes, go back and re-twist the sections from earlier, then blow for another few minutes or so. Do this until hair is basically dry, but do not over dry. Spray with a Scrunch Hair Spray (like the one fro Aussie) and then toss with fingers or do a head flip to give it a very natural, but still curly look and feel. Give it a try. Hope it works.

i kno exactly how you feel, only i have really thick straight hair.

you can't get layers cuz that really thins your hair out..

and i know that greasy "i washed my hair at night" feeling, its gross! i usually put it up in the morning if i wash at night, even straightening is just gross!

but what i used to do is use curling shampoo, then put "making waves" by grahm webb?? in when it was wet. then i would blow dry on low, scrunching it all around. THen when it was 90 percent dry, i would put it into little buns all over my head for 10 minutes. Take it out, scrunch a bit more making waves. And if you want, hair spray...but DONT make it look crunchy--this is the worst!

its not really a lot of work as opposed to hot rollers or barrel irons.

i cant do it very well anymore becuase my hair is super long .and thicker than before. i just shower, put in some leave in conditioner and go to school lol. My hair is really straight with some movement anyhow :] i love it.

i hope you find the way you want. anyways braiding it at night it looses ALL volume and it just makes it all kinky! all buns do is loose volume at the root at night and then when i put spray in the morning and blew dry it, it just went straight again

arg! good luck tho!

ok they have these things called diffusers and you can get them at like walmart or target or any like beauty salons and wut it does it attaches to you hair dryer and soo like you scrunch your hair with gel and then you put it around and stuff on the diffuser and it makes it so cool! i have one and my hair is naturally straight and it comes out soooo cool! i love it! but it depends on wut kind of dryer you have! look where the dryers are (if you go to walmart) and they have diffusers by themselves and they sell them withthe dryers also
