OK, here is the thing, I want to make my hair stand up, but not a lot, and I want to be able to put it down whenever I need/want to. Is the ability to make a person's hair dependent upon race, because I am Black(male), and I have yet to see a Black person with hair that stands up. I know that hair gel has something to do with it, but I am not sure of what would work. A friend of mine said that I would need to shave my head bald, and if thats the case, I'll pass. I can't give a really good description, its almost like some Asian and Hispanic guys have their hair. Now, I am not gay, I just like the hair, its cool. Help me please.

use straighteners to make it stand up and use wax to control it that way you can comb it down if you wish....

I think if you'd get it straightened (or chemically straightened so you dont have to use a flat iron everyday) and then put hair wax or gel it'd have the effect your looking for.
