What can i do to further prevent hair breakage?

I am so annoyed at the fact that my hair seems to have both split ends n breakage, b/c i have done everything that i could possibly do like not blow dry my hair, never used hair gel or chemicals, never brushed it after taking a shower, and i dont brush it often either!! the only thing i do is that i tend to put my hair in a pony tail, which i think is one reason!! can u suggest a shampoo that i can use??? i would really appreciate it!!

a pony tail could cause breakage, especially if you pull it too tight. i found that out with my hair and i just switched to big jaw clips. right now, you could either cut it (which i decided against) or just let it keep growing and use a good deep conditioner once a week (i use nexxus keraphix, a re-constructor) and therappe and humectress for daily products.
