Questions for permed hair.?

Hi.

just a few questions, Ive had my hair permed for about 2 weeks now and Im satified with it, I was abit disapointed at first as it relaxed abit so not as curly, but I actually quite like it! as I have very long hair it looks ok.

Shampoo - should I? as I remember the hair dresser saying dont shampoo for about 3weeks, is this right? and to just use conditioner.

Products that dont clump!! is there any products that dont do this? like mouse hair gel/sprays etc...

Are hot oils ok to use? I treated my self to this once and seems to have done no harm :) once a week is ok?

Ive been useing leave in conditioner spray, is this ok? it seems to help with the clumps!

is there anything else I should know? please tell me :)

Thx!!

Yes perms relax after 2 weeks. That is normal. You can shampoo %26amp; condition after 48 hours of getting a perm. You must have misunderstood the 3 week thing.

Hot oil is OK to use if your hair is damaged and you want to put back some oils that get lost in the processing. Once a week for a month is OK but then it will build up so stop.

Leave in conditioners are OK, mousse is OK.

Not sure what you mean by clumps???? Do you want them or not want them??? Use your fingers to separate the clumping. Or a pick comb works good too.

I've been doing my own perms for 25+ years.

i didnt realise people still had perms i thought they were an 80's thing

no all that is right just listen to wat the hairdresser said.

Use a wide comb always - 3 weeks seems too long to wait to wash it - plus it will no longer look good, right?

Stop thinking so much about it - best things are products against humidity which is a killer for permed hair.

Now you should know that once your hair is chemically processed there will not be any magic conditioner to: condition it!

I learned that after spending a small fortune!

I decided to shave off all the relaxed hair and let mine grow natural and virgin - I do a whole lotta stuff when I wash it but the results are amazing:

Prior to washing it and with time: I apply two different conditioners by nexxus - one called silk something, the other called moisture something - leave those on for hours (time permitting) sometimes ever overnight - when I need to rinse them, then I wash my hair first with Redken smooth down shampoo - 2 washes and then with an antidandruff shampoo - finally apply smooth down conditioners by Redken - leave on for about 20 minutes. Rinse off and use this product by Phyto just on the face frame roots called phytodefrissant - and dry it - finally use the Chi iron and voila! beautiful results.
