What works better to hold curls hairspray or gel?

I just bought a curling iron and wanted to curl my hair with a spiral curler but i wanted to hold the curls in since my hair is naturally straight and i don't want a perm. What works the best to keep and hold curls better?Does hairspray or hair gel work better or is there something else that works better. Is there any products you'd recommend?More information gets best answer!

What works better to hold curls hairspray or gel?

hairspray works best..gel is heavier, and if you put to much on, you risk losing you curls.

find a nice, strong hairspray, and stick with that, gel is just to heavy!

i recommend the Aussie hairspray, not only does it come in different strengths, but it smells nice to! (smell is some type of flower)(bottle is purple/white, with a kangaroo on it)

hope this works!

I suggest that you use hairspray better because gel will flatten ur curls when you apply it

Don't use gel. Spray your hair with something like a curl activator (I use a Redken spray...I think it's called Curls Up?) first, then before I curl each section, I spray it with hairspray, comb thru it, then curl it. When you've finished curling all your hair, give it a light spray of hairspray and then style it.
