I'm trying to grow my hair long. It's about 4-5" now. I can barely tuck it behind my ears. It looks very shabby sometimes, unless I gel my hair. Has anyone else gone through this "awkward" phase when trying to grow their hair? How long does it take anyway for the hair to grow long enough to settle under it's own weight? Any other advice.... Thanks!

I'd just wait it out a bit more, becuase I think you will like it when its long.
I have gone through that with my bangs (becuase Im not a guy, and I have loonng hair) and it was worth going through it in the end.
