Help with scrunching hair!?

Whenever I try scrunching my hair, after about 10 minutes, it begins to frizz a lot. I mean a lot. Also, after a while, it just looks curly, it doesn't look scrunched. What do I do to get rid of the frizz and make sure that my hair looks good when I scrunch it? Please give me a technique to make my hair look scrunched without frizz.

Also, I don't own a diffuser or expensive hair products. Just hair gel and some hair spray. (I don't want to buy more products)

If your hair is naturally curly, scrunching will just make it curl.

If it isn't:

Brush your hair in the shower while it has conditioner in it.

Don't use a brush when you get out of the shower- squeeze out extra water and separate it with your fingers- make sure you don't have a part at the top or it will look weird when it dries.

Flip your head upside down and scrunch it with a towel- not your fingers. Use gel, not hairspray. I like "flexible hold" gels because they don't make my hair crunchy (once you ARE in the market for new gel, I recommend Dove Define %26amp; Shine). Put a big blob in your hand, rub hands together, and run them through the back and front of your hair. Get another big blob, rub hands together, and scrunch. Not too much- the more you scrunch the more frizzy your hair gets.

Take the towel one more time and scrunch.

Flip your head back over and touch it as little as possible until it is dry.

Try really hard not to run your hands through it or mush it around- it separates it and makes it frizzy.

Good luck!
