Help me fix my wavy hair!?

My homecoming is here on oct. 21 and I really want to look my best, if for just at least one day.

My problem areas were teeth, acne and hair. I used the whitestrips and my teeth look great now. I gave up on the acne, because it hurts more and more when I apply persagel and whatnot. But I know I can fix my hair!

Let me describe my hair. Its short (not buzz cut short, but short like most guy's hair). Its very thick, and its wavy. It gets a little frizzy, but a little hairgel after the shower gets rid of that. But the waves wont go away! I tried the strongest hair gel I could find, but my hair just stayed wavy and then hardened to a rock. I tried the v05 make it straight, no help. What can I do? My hair would look so much better if it was just straight. I dont care if it takes me 5 hours before my dance, it would be worth it for just that one night. What do you guys do?

This is a no-fail regimen:

Starting in the shower: shampoo and condition with a straightening shampoo and conditioner. John Frieda makes them, as do most lines. Leave the conditioner in for 5 minutes before you rinse. Then, when you get out of the shower and before you towel-dry your hair, put some "Frizz-Ease" serum in your hair. That's a John Freida product too. Then, when your hair is damp but not dry, apply a straightening balm, starting at the ends. Many brands have straightening balms. Almost all of them will work in conjunction with.....

Blow dry your hair on a low setting, one piece at the time, while running a brush through it. After your hair is dry, take a flat iron (Conair makes good ones) at least an inch wide, ceramic or glass platers, and run it through your hair, starting with the bottom layers. Use clips to keep the top layers up while you do this and then work your way up. This should make your hair very straight!! Good luck!

How about using a straightening gel in your hair after your shower then blowdrying straight and then put some more in... failing that you could go to the hairdressers and get is professionally straightened.

As for the acne, try using products without any soap/fragrant based ingredients such as Cetaphil .. they helped me a lot...

well for the acne try a non-comodogenic moisturizer. A mistake a lot of people make is using too many or too harsh a product for acne and end up causing more irritation on the face, leading ot more breakouts. Even if your skin is oily...moisturizing properly should help. Also about the hair, what about a gentle straightening gel and then blowdrying with a flat round brush? If you have the money you could try a straightening iron, preferably ceramic (real ceramic, not metal claiming to be ceramic). If you hair isny too damaged or frizzy..i would say blowdryer and flat round brush is your best bet. Also cheapest and easier to try before homecoming to see if it works!

Actually, i think curly hair is hot on guys. but to fix it, use a hair straightener if your hair is long enough. Or use straightening gel or shampoo. if u are desperate enough, call a salon. Hope this helps!

Everything I was going to say about your hair, Lucyfire 2 already said, so i will leave that alone, and I gave her a thumbs up too. I will try to help with the acne instead. Try this sweetie, it's what I was told when I was a kid, and even movie stars do it too. It's easy, and inexpensive, and works well. Wash your face with very warm water, (not scalding) and Zest soap. (You can use a beauty bar if you like, but many contain oils, kind of defeating your purpose.) Any ways, lather up well, maybe even leave on for a minute, then rinse off. Then rinse face well with COLD water, to close the pores. Pat dry with towel. (Don't rub) Then, put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, squeeze some out if you need to, and rub it on face, avoiding eyes, and making sure to get the acne spots. Do this when you get up and before you go to bed, and you will soon have smooth pretty skin. Go to a dollar store, u can get rubbing alcohol 2 for a dollar, and 1 or 2 bags of cotton balls for a dollar, and 1 or 2 bars of Zest for a dollar. So for $3.00, and tax, and some effort on your part, you can have a beautiful complexion. It really works.
