How do people make their 'scene' hair stand up?

How do those people make their hair so poofy? Like hair gel doesn't seem like it's what they use. How do they do it? If you don't know what i'm talking about, here's a few links::

I had a boyfriend once who did one of two things to get his hair to stand up. He would either put Elmer's glue in his hair or he would just put soap in it and not rinse it out. If he slept with that stuff in his hair it would stand up and do whatever he wanted it to do. Hopefully this helps with what you are talking about and you too can have poofy hair. Oh as a side note- some people have curly hair and let it grow then brush it (which makes it poofy)...if that's what you're talking about then either you have curly hair or you deal with the fact that you won't have poofy hair.

Lets see.... you can use all sorts of products.

I use a mixture of styling lotion and "surf wax" stuff, if you put it in your hair and when you blow dry it, hold the parts of your hair you want to stick up with your fingers while you dry it.

And then you can use a wax or pomade to shape it and make it piecey afterwords.

I used to have hair EXACTLY like the bottom pick. I went to a salon and I got my hair dresser to razor those little layers at the top, and then you need to tease your hair with a comb. Every scene girl knows how to tease her hair, that's how you get the volume at the top and skinny, straight hair at the bottom.

I've got a friend who makes her the top layers of her hair stand up. Some people think that scene hair looks good, but doing all the trends could damage your hair. The ones that I see use so much product, fry their hair, and over color it. If you want the type of myspace hair that everyone else wants be sure to get some shampoo/conditioner that will strengthen and repair your hair.

If there's a walgreen's near your house you should buy a can of a hair spray with the name that's something like 24 hour shine all day hold. The bottle comes in a huge size a pocket size. It'll also be a gold color. I used it to make my mohawk stand up last year. I also use this hair molding creme that I bought from a salon. It's KMS hair play molding paste. It works really well too. I think you'll have to use a variety of diffrent products before you find one they'll work best for your hair. good luck.

p.s. Scene kids usually use a straightener, so use that before you use styling products; otherwise your straightener will get styling products on it %26amp; having gunk on it looks really nasty.
