Has anyone used the hair gels from lush cosmetics?

I love all the bath and shower products from lush and saw some hairgels when I was in the shop today and I like the idea of using something natural and not full of chemicals on my hair. I was just wondering if they give good hold? I was thinking about maybe using the strong hold one to hold curls in? thanks!

Has anyone used the hair gels from lush cosmetics?

My favourite of them is 'The Big Tease'. It seems to work very well for me, I don't need much hold and to be honest it is a bit strong for me but it might work well for you if you're wanting to hold your curls.

The staff working in Lush gave me tips on how to make it work the best. Don't be afraid to ask for free samples of the ones you want to try, if you're nice the staff are usually happy to give you a try to take home.

Has anyone used the hair gels from lush cosmetics?

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

I'd hate to see my school burn down because of hair gel.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

Your school is likely to burn down because of the white chicks and their hair mousse.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

thats a retarded question

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

What??????????

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

i think your brain retardent, why would ppl be lighting fires in their hair in the first place, are your clothes flame retardent, and i dont think i heard of ppl wearin jerri curls since 92

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

Talk about retarded- hey!!! maybe u are one of those fools that wanna bring back segregation to save u from the fire caused by goo!!! (I wish i could use the yahoo! smiley right here- the one that rolls its eyes)

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

I think its a petroleum product so it wouldn't be fire retardent.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

excuse me sweetie

by that goo do you mean "hair grease"

alot of BLACK PEOPLE use different things. We do not have naturally moist hair, so we do use grease. And if they are pressing or flat ironing their hair thats a whole other story. Us BLACK PEOPLE like to keep our hair nice as Im sure you do too and we both know that may require "touch ups". I would really doubt the hair grease that we AFRICAN AMERICANS put in our hair would not burn down your school. I hoped you learned something.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

this is a stupid question. and white girls but gel and mousse intheir hair. how about u talk about that.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

Sorry jerk I had to report you after I read all of your racist questions about black people. Nof funny get a life.

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

rephrase the question in a more NICER manner and maybe we will answer your question(:

Is the goo that black people put in their hair fire retardent?

okay, Are you doing that new retarded thing? I think its called robo'trippin! Lay off the cough syrup.

I bought some curlers soft ones for my hair to curl it because my hair is very thin and dosent want

anything my question is should I brush my hair and put gel on it before I put the curlers in my hair overnight? And also in the morning I dont want the curls to come out do I have to blowdry or brush it or use any kind of hairspray I dont want to look I put me finger in a light socket.lol?

I bought some curlers soft ones for my hair to curl it because my hair is very thin and dosent want to do?

At night wash your hair and blow dry it to semi-dry.

Comb a setting lotion through it, which doesn't dry as stiff as gel or mousse.

Use a fine toothed comb to take your sections, comb them smooth, and then roll them. With the spongey rollers hair can easily be stuck in the closing snap, and so must be rolled neat and tidy for ultimal results.

In the morning, carefully remove the rollers but leave your hair in the rolled position. Check for dampness. Lightly blow dry any damp curls. Dampness on set hair will ruin the set before you even walk out the door.

Once the hair is thoroughly dry, rub some of the setting lotion on your hands and gently finger comb it. Don't brush or seperate the curls, they'll fall by themselves and last longer if you leave it be after light finger combing.

Finish with a finishing spray.

I bought some curlers soft ones for my hair to curl it because my hair is very thin and dosent want to do?

Brushing/gel before curlers is good. If your hair is damp in the morning, blow dry with curlers in. Take the curlers out slowly and just run your fingers through to shape it the way you want, then spray with hair spray. you should be good to go! 閳?br>I bought some curlers soft ones for my hair to curl it because my hair is very thin and dosent want to do?

Since your hair is so thin, shampoo or wet the hair before putting gel in your hair. (spray in gels, such as the one Pantene makes works best, as it's not so messy on the hands) In the morning, take all the rollers out of your hair, carefully, so as not to pull your hair out, then take your hairbrush, %26amp; brush through your hair once, real good. Then go back %26amp; style your hair with a pick or a comb. BTW: By brushing through your curls, you are helping to set the curl. When I had my hair salon, I loved doing roller sets %26amp; I miss doing them. Just a helpful tip. If you want a tighter curl in your temple region, use the silver clippies. The curls stay in really well.

I bought some curlers soft ones for my hair to curl it because my hair is very thin and dosent want to do?

Your using the wrong rollers. Buy the plastic, magnetic, snap on rollers with the smooth barrel, and apply setting lotion to wet/damp hair. Nothing else. Let hair dry naturally. You will have smooth, firm, bouncy curls that will last all day until you re-roll up at night. Do not use hair spray or gels, they will make the curls, stiff, hard, and your hard will break off when you try to comb it out.

Hair questions?

I have some hair questions. Answer any please. Thanks!

-How can I get my hair in a perfect ponytail? Whenever I put it up I always have bumps, etc.

-When I put my hair up I use gel to get rid of frizz, etc. Should I put the gel in before I put my hair up or after its up?

-Any tips for frizzy hair?

-How can I have my hair in a pontail with the part still in it? Like how it's in a pony or w/e but you can still see the part? I tried parting my hair and pulling it into a pony but then it has bumps..

-What are some good simple hairstyles?

-For waves[to make your hair wavy by braiding] about how many braids should you put your hair into? How thick should they be and any other tips for getting good waves?

-Any other good hair tips you have that could be useful? Just anything that you know?

Hair questions?

1) What you should do is first straighten your hair. Then pull it into a high, tight pony tail. Then take a rubberband, put some conditioner on it and tie it tightly around your pony tail. This will prevent frizz.

2) I would put it in both times- extra protection!

3) One word- Chi Straightner!

4) Don't- you have to have super thin, straight hair.

5) Braids

6) 3 braids- divide your hair into thirds, (2 braids on the side, 1 in the back) and put a little water into your hair. Sleep on it

7) You should wash your hair every other day. Use a Chi straightner

Hope I help! Have a nice day!

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

til it is totally dry - read the directions

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

You're supposed to wait 24 hours, but I've washed in the morning and done my hair at night and it turned out fine.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

dirty hair is best to dye. the oils will help hold in the initial color. so i wouldn't wash it for a few days, then dye it!

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

I've usually just wait a day and it works out just fine. I dye my hair at home all the time and have been doing so for a year, too.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

1-2 days. I know it sounds gross not washing your hair for that long, but the natural oils of your hair will protect it when you dye it.

Take care.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

24 hours. You are not supposed to color your hair right after you shampoo it. When you shampoo your hair, it strips away all the oils that protect your scalp when you color it.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

DYE IT NOW I DONT KNOW WHY THOUGH! MY CAT TOLD ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

dont wash and color your hair the same day. color about 1 or 2 days later.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

you can just use a dime drop of conditioner and rub it into your hair on the dry ends and then dye away!

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

Wait til your hair dries and then color it.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

You can color as soon as your hair is good and dry,but it might be better to wait til the am.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

Wait till it dryes. The dye won't stick to wet hair.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

24 hours

in tell your hairs dry!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

just blow dry it dry and you'll be good to go

24 hrs

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

The reason you don't want freshly washed hair is because the dyes are formulated to respond best in the presence of natural hair oils. They not only protect the hair from the dyes (preventing frizzies and split ends), but they also give you a finished color that isn't as prone to fading.

Give your hair 24 hours before you color it. Don't rush it and don't try to fake it out with other products. It might not be this coloring where you see the damage, but it would be the next. Your hair is very porous after you color it and it's best to treat it properly now so that you don't fry it later.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

When you are shopping for hair color, read what the manufacturers directions are. Most of these manufacturers have their own websites. Check them out, they all have Q%26amp;A's sections. Don't forget their are many different types of hair colors...tints, semi-permanent and permanent. You have to choose which will better suit the desired effect you are looking for and become aware of the long term repeated colorings should you go permanent or what you would have to do in order to remove permanent color from your hair to return to it's natural color. All hair color products eventually will cause some damage to your hair, use a real good deep conditioner, should you settle for repeated colorings. Permanent black hair color is the worse to remove, it has to be removed by bleaching...bad for the hair. Choose wisely.

I need to dye my hair at home, I just shampooed because of all the gel. How long should I wait?

Ok, listen to tell u the truth it dont matter. Just make sure your hair is completely dry. Also another tip for using box color is to mix three cupfuls of shampoo , because the peroxide vol. is way to strong and thats why people dont get the right color. good luck.

How do i get a mark from a hair product off my coffee table. the mark is alcohol based.table not var

the other day i placed a bottle of spray hair gel on my table and it was leaking and left a ring on my table. the mark is alcohol based. the table is mahogony and is not varnished. how can i get it off without ruining my table. I do have woodstain but it isnt covering it.HELP

How do i get a mark from a hair product off my coffee table. the mark is alcohol based.table not varished?

You could try washing soda (available from supermarkets and hardware shops) dissolved in hot water. Apply this with extra fine wire wool along the grain in a light scrubbing motion over the whole surface of the table. This should remove all the muck on the table top. Although I haven't tried it specifically with hair gel, it's worked on all the other stains, and old furniture wax, I've tried. If you wish, when dry, you can then apply a light coat of Briwax or similar, again along the grain and with extra fine wire wool. When this dries, you can either polish with a soft cloth, or knock it back with... you guessed it, wire wool. This will make the surface less prone to marking in the future.

How do i get a mark from a hair product off my coffee table. the mark is alcohol based.table not varished?

Use another alcohol to remove the stain. Suggest meths or surgical spirit.

How u take care u'r hair form heating them?

For great look we straightening hair or blue drying it is a habit for all of us but heating hair can dammag so what u take more and more precaution not dammag hair.

I think that you are asking 'what product do you use to protect your hair from heat damage?' if you are then I use Tresemme Heat defence spray, it leaves a lovely shine in my hair.

How u take care u'r hair form heating them?

If you're asking 'what products help protect hair from heat damage' I would suggest a trip to your local Sally's or other pro shop. A very good leave in conditioner would be a good start, and a serum (frizz ease is good) will help maintain gloss and hold in the moisture.

The best idea is - don't blow dry and straighten every day!

How u take care u'r hair form heating them?

Use a heat defense spray, its the only way to protect your hair unless you let your hair dry naturally. xx

How u take care u'r hair form heating them?

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood & clear gel?

After 30 or more years of shaving, I've never had this before and it's not healing. I use an electric shaver so I just don't know what the problem is. When ever I stretch my arm out it seems to start again. It is thick like hair gel and brown. or thin like water and clear?

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood %26amp; clear gel?

it might be a sist you know ingrown hairs. hairs that grow in the direction not intended to. might wanna see a doctor or stop shaving. also your deorderant might be giving you an reaction

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood %26amp; clear gel?

Um, I can't see it, so I can't help much. Why are you asking us for a description? We can't see it.

Did you do something different than usual?

Have you asked someone that can see it?

Sometimes sores that won't heal are a symptom of much bigger problems (like diabetes). Think doctor's appointment.

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood %26amp; clear gel?

Get it checked out. A skin infection of some kind. No shaving please.

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood %26amp; clear gel?

A thick brown discharge sounds like a deeply infected hair follicle or infected cyst. Please go see your local doctor. A delay may allow the infection to spread to surrounding tissues or to the lymph nodes in th axilla which could lead to far more serious health problems such as septicaemia.

I have oozing from my under arm. I thought it was "razor burn"? Blood %26amp; clear gel?

you could have had a nick in your skin that got infected causing cellulitis. what makes me think this is the fact that when you stretch out your arm it starts again and that may be due to the pressure on the area from stretching. cellulitis can be a "pocket" of infection under the skin that requires either antibiotics or draining depending on how large the area is. you need to see a doctor so that they can determine what is going on and i would avoid shaving and deoderants until this is possible so as not to further aggravate the situation.

Moisturising lotion in hair?

i just came across a chat transcript of ambika pillai and read that she has asked to use moiturising lotion in hair instead of gel for the wet look!and she has recommended vaseline intensive care.is she talking of moisturising lotion which we use in body or there are some other lotions available for hair?

has any1 use moisturising body lotion in hair?

Moisturising lotion in hair?

Actually I just did that last weekend. I spent the night over my friend's house, but I forgot my hair moisturizer and my friend didn't have any. I have a curly afro and needed to use something or else it would be dry and fluffy, so I ended up using my friend's vaseline intensive care with aloe. My hair was the softest that it has ever been, and it didn't get dry. I was wondering if i could use body lotion on a regular basis or if it would damage my hair. Where did you read that transcript , I'd like to read it myself and see what all it said.

Moisturising lotion in hair?

Uhhm I am going to have to conqur. Bio Silk is by far the best product that you can use for the wet look. You can buy it at your salon in a tiny bottle for like $20 or in a big bottle from Costco for $10. And you can use it for more than just your hair, and more than just the wet look.

Moisturising lotion in hair?

No.... there is a hair moisturising lotion.

Most brands carry a line of hair moisturisers; Optimum; Panteen ProV; Garnier; Tresumme. It works well for hair that tends to be dry, especially if you're in air condition most of the times.

It works even better when coupeled with a hair polish. Put a little of both in the palms of your hand and then work through your hair. Hair instantly looks healthier and more shiney.

Moisturising lotion in hair?

ethnic or not?

Moisturising lotion in hair?

ew that stuff is sticky, use straight sorbolene cream

How to style poofy American hair into Asian mullet or spiky look?

Recently I got my hair cut into what can only be described as a Julie Andrews Cut (reference picture, only poofier: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000AP... )

I really wanted a bed-head, spiky, perhaps Asian mullet sort of look, but I'm not sure my hairdresser understood me (either that, or my hair refuses to do what I want it to).

I'm not a blow-drier kind of person (because it only makes me poofier - plus hair damage, etc), but I do have time, hair wax, and gel at my disposal, and I'd really like some advice on how to de-poof the top of my head, and give it a texturized, spiky look.

Thanks in advance for all the advice!

How to style poofy American hair into Asian mullet or spiky look?

http://shenyuepop.com/wp-content/uploads...

something like her? the Korean hairstyle? you have to cut the top a lot and do major layers. it is kind of like men's shaggy cut and maybe get extensions? it kind of looks better when you have long hair. but short hair is fine. =] first, you MUST cut the top and add layers. it will not work unless you have the hair to. to get a good cut you should go to a Korean salon... and print out the picture. they may refuse because to make a mullet look it can not be too short. with the hair like the girl in the picture, your hair will not look puffy. because if you get that cut you are cutting a LOT of volume which will "de-puff" your hair. good luck. =]

My hair is real dry what should i do?

im a guy and i contion my hair i use gel i try everything and my hair is still dry as heck what should i do what kind of shampoo and conditioning shoul i use?!?! HELP ! plz!!

My hair is real dry what should i do?

I use Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner and it really helps. I have really long hair and for awhile I was using crappy cheap brands like VO5 and Suave (because I was broke... and still am) and it was getting really dry and brittle, even when I was using conditioner. So I went back to Aussie. They have a whole line of conditoners and treatments that are great for dry and damaged hair. There is also VO5 hot oil, which is a little tube of oil that you warm and add to your hair for a few minutes before you shampoo. Maybe use that once a week or so.

My hair is real dry what should i do?

i suggest you start with a hot oil treatment. this may be found at the drug store.

next you should brush you hair one hundred strokes a day to evenly distribute the scalp's natural oil through the entire hair. continue to use a good shampoo and conditioner (some have built in moisturizers).

My hair is real dry what should i do?

OK, first off: most styling products (probably the gel you are using) have alcohol in them, this is very drying. QUIT using that! Then you need to assess the type and condtion of your hair, do you have thick hair, straight or curly, or fine hair?

Do you have split-ends? That's like when you can see white at the tips of each hair. If you have splits, first you need to get a good haircut, go to a barber or stylist so quality scissors and/or shears can be used on your hair to get the dead stuff off.

Usually a hair stylist can recomend a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair type. I have found a few that are mild and good for all types of hair: TresSemme Brand is good (and inexpensive). You may also need to get a good deep conditioner to restructure your hair cuticle. A few I like ( you will have to go to a BeautySupply for this): Ion Brand Deep Conditioner and the other one I like I think is called something like HairSilk (could be wrong about the name, but you can identify it by the pinkish brown packet (its 1-2 uses) it comes in, and it's cost should be about $1.00 to $1.50..this is some amazing stuff if you can find it, for getting your hair back to normal.

Last and not least: Do not wash your hair everyday, try to go 3 days, but at least every other day, so you don't dry it out.

1.Like everything else about true, lasting beauty, healthy hair begins within your body. Start with your diet. Include lots of green leafy vegetables and sweet juicy fruits. Dairy products such as milk and fresh yogurt will also help. Fresh coconut is also considered excellent "hair food" - sprinkle grated coconut over salads, diced fresh fruit, or rice. 2.Cut down on refined, processed and canned foods. Ayurveda considers foods with artificial preservatives and chemical additives stripped of their inherent "intelligence" and therefore not helpful in supplying nutrition to your body and mind. Ice-cold beverages also hamper the process of digestion and assimilation of nutrients.

3.Cooking with certain spices adds flavor to your food and provides nourishment for your hair. Cumin, turmeric and black pepper are some "hair-friendly" spices. Add a healthy pinch of each to single-portion soups and stews as they are cooking. Saut鑼?1/8 閳?/4 teaspoon each of the three spices in a teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter) or olive oil and add to cooked veggies. Roasted ground cumin and ground black pepper can be sprinkled over fresh yogurt.

4.Stress can be seriously injurious to long-term health and color of hair. Try and manage your time and tasks to minimize time-related pressures. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation. Seek out tranquil sights in nature to help restore balance to your mind. Relaxing or uplifting music can be therapeutic. Get adequate, good quality sleep to help the natural process of rejuvenation.

5.Ayurvedic herbs that help hair health include Eclipta alba and Gotu Kola. Eclipta alba is called "Bhringaraj" - literally, king of tresses. It nourishes the hair and helps resistance to stress as well. Brahmi, sometimes called Gotu Kola, also helps balance the mind and nourishes the hair and scalp. Since Ayurveda considers the health, color and luster of hair so dependent on overall mind/body health, synergistic Ayurvedic herbal preparations for hair can also include herbs such as Country Mallow, which is supposed to strengthen the physiology, and Winter Cherry, which aids resistance to stress.

6.Stay away from harsh chemical topical products that can damage hair over time. Look for gentle, natural cleansers and conditioners, especially if you wash your hair more than three times a week. Shampoos and conditioners that contain nourishing botanicals are even better. Read labels carefully - sometimes, products that say "herbal" or "natural" can include no-no chemicals.

7.A warm oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp. You can use good quality coconut, almond or olive oil Ayurvedic hair oils also contain some of the herbs mentioned earlier. Apply some mildly warmed oil to your hair and gently massage into your scalp evenly with your fingertips. Leave on overnight if you can, if not, leave on for at least an hour or two, then get it out by shampooing your hair. The scalp massage helps you relax and aids sound sleep as well.

8.Never attack wet hair with a brush, no matter how rushed for time you are. Tangles in wet hair are best removed with a wide-toothed comb. Use a wooden comb if you can find one; it won't generate static electricity. Excessive blow-drying can damage hair in the long-term, making it brittle and causing split ends. If you can, let your hair dry naturally, then brush into place.

9.Last, but not least, brushing your hair regularly to stimulate the scalp will keep it looking healthy and lustrous. Brush each night in all directions in turn - left to right, right to left, front to back and back to front Use smooth long strokes from scalp to hair-tips.

What to do with fly away hair and curly at the sides.?

Get a good leave in conditioner, or a milky-like serum for control. It'll also define, without weighing your hair down, like gels.

You might want to start leaving some of the curls out on the side, rather than fighting them. They probably look nicer than you think...but still get one of the two products mentioned above for control and definition.
